Our Story
Craftsmanship paired with a keen eye for design
Allerton Custom Framing was founded by M.M. Badruzzaman and has been framing for the neighbourhood from 241 8th Avenue since 2018. In that time the shop has built a reputation on two things: the quality of the work that leaves the bench, and the honesty of the advice that goes with it.
We offer custom framing solutions tailored to the individual piece — artwork, photographs, memorabilia and textiles. Every job starts the same way, with the piece on the counter and a conversation about what it needs.
That conversation matters. A frame is a permanent decision made in a few minutes, and the difference between a good one and a poor one is usually information the customer did not have. So we give it: what the light will do, which glazing is worth the money on this particular piece, and where it honestly is not.
How We Work
Four things we do not compromise on

Archival by default
Acid-free mats and inert backing on every job, not as an upsell. Materials that will not burn a line into your paper in ten years.

Honest recommendations
If standard glazing is right for your poster, we will say so. Museum glass is worth it on some pieces and wasted on others.

Finished by hand
Cut, joined and fitted at the bench, then inspected under raking light before it is sealed. Nothing leaves half-checked.

Told the real timeline
One to two weeks on most work. If a moulding has to be ordered in, you hear about it at the counter, not a fortnight later.

Where We Work
Chelsea, and everywhere it reaches
The shop sits on 8th Avenue between 22nd and 23rd, a few minutes from the galleries on West 24th and the residential blocks either side of it. Most of our work comes from within a short walk.
We offer free delivery on most orders in and around Chelsea. Larger pieces and gallery-wall installations further afield are quoted individually — ask when you come in.
